I have been wearing them for almost two weeks on and off, hiked a few miles and even tested out the waterproofing of them and I can say is that I love them. They are very comfortable, fit great. I will definitely be supporting you guys along with buying more. I am going to show case them to my youth hunting group so some of the kids will be able to see a greatd quality boot that won’t break the bank for them. Great work, keep it up.
First off I’m in no way shape or form connected with this company I actually ran across these boots on TikTok of all places! I’ve had type 1 diabetes since I was 5 years old. Now at 37 I’m starting to get neuropathy in my feet and cannot find anything that is comfortable. By the end of a 10 hour work day my feet feel like they’re going to burn off the bones. I decided to give the CBB a try. All I can say is wow!! I own 400 dollar crispis and at the end of tac this year my feet were absolutely done for. I swore I was gonna find a boot that was way lighter and more comfortable and these are the real deal!! Give them a try people. Support a small company that could easily be charging more but doesn’t so us hunters can have more for less. I had emailed them talking to them about sizing on them and they immediately was there to help. Customer service was 10/10 just like their product that they stand behind.Absolutely cannot wait to see where this company goes and what they will have in the future.
After hiking miles through rugged terrain chasing game, my knees and hips usually pay the price. But after covering 53 miles in the Montana wilderness wearing the Phantom Step boots, I can honestly say I haven’t had a single issue with either. Comfort, durability, and performance were unreal from start to finish. Absolutely love these boots!
Durable, quiet, highly water resistant, lightweight, just a little narrow in the toe box for my 10 EEEE feet.
I purchased these as an alternative to my heavier, insulated Crispi's. When I first opened the box, there was an overwhelming plastic/chemical smell so I set them outside for about 24 hours which seemed to do the job.
I bought the same size as I wear for my other shoes. They are ridiculously difficult to get on the first dozen times...then, only very hard to put on. I can't imagine anyone has a shoehorn, but I wished they included one. It's such a pain, that I second guess wearing them just for that reason. Once they are on, they are comfortable and I haven't had any issues with blisters/hot spots (while wearing alpaca socks). I like the fairly minimalist nature of the boots while still offering decent protection against Arizona thorns and sharp rocks.
I've taken them on walks with my dog, hikes with weight, and finally out on a hunt trip last weekend. Aside from the absolute nightmare of putting these on, they held up well in the backcountry. A few times, I wished for heavier lugs on the tread, but it was rarely an issue. I didn't come across any water so I can't attest to the advertised water resistance. I twice had an opportunity to stalk an animal in dried pine needles, pine cones, and sticks and noticed a much quieter foot fall as I moved around (even with my pack on). I could feel the ground and any obstacles much more easily and was able to stop from loudly crushing a couple pine cones mid-step.
However, while I tried to be as quiet as possible, I noticed an audible squeak coming from both shoes as they flexed. I think it was the BOA system against the top of the shoe but I couldn't seem to make it stop by tightening/loosening the system. I also appreciate the simplicity of the BOA system, having used it on some trail running shoes and snowboarding boots, but I forgot how annoying it is to not be able to tighten the ankle area and leave the foot a little looser. It's all or nothing.
Overall, these are a decent choice for some lightweight, protective, and reasonably minimalist boots, but I'm not sure I'd purchase them again due to the donning hassle and the squeaking I experienced. Hopefully, future versions work those issues out and it checks all the boxes without these flaws.
Very pleased with the phantom step , the construction of boot with the quality materials is second to none , sure the boots snug and might be tough to get on in the beginning , but I’d rather trust having a nice tight fitting boot that I know is secure and durable enough to handle any terrain than a loose laced boot slipping off when I get ina tough spot , highly recommend!
These boots fit great and i live the BOA system. These are exactly what i have been wanting in a hunting boot. Very pleased with my purchase
These boots have definitely impressed me. The lightweight aspect if these boots truly make slipping through the woods highly affective. Still to be determined will be durability through the entire hunting season as well has comfort and warmth they will be able to provide when it comes to late season. Look forward to providing that update at season end.
I grew up in MT so was really excited to find a boot that was not only made in MT but tested in MT! Ordered a pair right away and have really been enjoying them. Have only used them once but they feel like a really awesome boot! I also really like the idea that when a pair wears out I can easily find another rather than with so many other boot companies when you finally find a good boot then they quit making them and you have to find another.
Customer service is amazing as well, my first pair came damaged and they quickly sent me a new pair when I reached out. I also love how you know it's a person helping you with customer service rather than a robot or some overseas person. Great company and will definitely be not only buying more of these boots but recommending them to everyone.
Ordered me a pair and used them on my archery antelope hunt great boot light weight. I was worried about getting thorns through the soul, but they didn’t have an issue whatsoever. excited to give them another go around next month
Exactly what ive been looking for in a boot
Great boots comfortable and I cant say enough about the company and customer service. I missed a military discount deal and they did not have to help me at all it was my fault. I emailed them and within 24hrs they responded and 72hrs they issued a refund thank you guys your awesome. I have recommended you to alot of guys at my company so look out for more orders.
Looked great and felt good. They were just to hard to get put on. with the sleave and a wider foot.
Great boots. Super comfortable and super quiet.
Awesome boots!! exceed my expectations and awesome customer service needed to go a half size bigger. They were Jonny on the spot and getting those exchanged out and get me back in the mountains! seriously about time that someone put some high quality and thought into a good pair of boots! With great customer service! highly recommend!
Liking them so far, they seem built well but time will tell!
Awesome
Feels good once you get them on but broke a sweat getting them on.
I don't usually write reviews, but I've hunted in high-top Converse for years and have tried more boots than I can count. I could never get used to how bulky and cumbersome most hunting boots are, but I believe I've finally found the boots I've been looking for with these Phantom Steps.
Not to mention, this company has the best customer service I've ever dealt with.
Happy Feet !
These boots are so awesome I had to order two pairs!
So far I love these boots. I’ve only taken them on a few local hikes but they are very comfortable right out of the box. They are a little difficult to get on the first few times but they go on easy after they break in a bit.
Very comfortable can stand/walk in them all day with no pain in my feet.
I read a bunch about how hard these boots were to get on. Unless they’ve changed something, I don’t see it. I’ve had zero issues getting the boots on and off. They’re comfortable. The toe box is exactly what I want for hunting. Just climbed my one-stick method in the southeast. They were phenomenal. 5 stars easily.
I wear a size 9 tennis shoe. I ordered a size 9 1/2 to be safe. I have a high instep and was unable to get my foot into the shoe. Constriction is from the attached gaiter. The gaiter itself would need to be wider. The shoe size is not the problem!! Was gonna try to find someone who could use them.
Super comfortable only concern is the squeaking of the boa laces
I bought these for my son's birthday and he loves them, he's going to Africa for a hunt and these boots are perfect.
Have been wearing them constantly since buying! Extremely comfortable. Have a narrower foot so probably not as tight as for some initially. Have not had the chance to check waterproofing yet, but will be on my feet all season!
